A mother-of-two is making thousands of pounds by selling her breast milk on demand to bodybuilders - who are ditching steroids in favour of the milk. Rafaela Lamprou from Cyprus gave birth to her son Anjelo seven months ago - but realised soon after she was producing an excessive amount of breast milk. It was full. Running out of room to store it, the year-old mum started to donate the milk to women who were struggling to produce milk on their own - until men began to approach Lamprou for her milk. The milk market in China consists of concentrated milk, fresh liquid milk, ultra-high temperature processing UHT milk also known as long-life milk , powdered milk and all other milks that come from dairy sources. Since the melamine scandal, the domestic milk market in China has had a hard time gaining the trust of consumers. This scandal hurt all players, including Mengniu Dairy and Yili Group, which are the leaders of the Chinese dairy industry. The crisis has also influenced milk consumers in China to purchase milk and dairy products from foreign brands, putting domestic milk producers at a disadvantage. Even though the evolving consumer perception of milk in China has facilitated the growth of import and consumption of foreign milk firms, domestic milk firms in China still have dominated the milk market in China.

We live in a golden age of milks. You can crown your latte with a foam of almond, coconut, oat, or pea; dunk your cookies in hemp or rice; drown your bran flakes in hazelnut, flax, or quinoa. Any legume, grain, seed, or nut, it seems, can be wrung into a mild and milky fluid. Among this next-gen crowd of plant-based milk analogs, soy milk, the first widely available nondairy milk, stands apart as the unfashionable older sister—a bit dowdy, a bit behind the times.
