But the creation of True Crime has brought Campbell to much darker places as it grew out of his personal fascination with real crime stories and a near-obsession with the infamous con man Christian Gerhartsreiter, who masqueraded under the alias Clark Rockefeller from to , claiming he was a member of the famous family.
